Midwest Texan's
is the
industry leader in the restoration and
maintenance of the North American T-6/SNJ and
Harvard series of aircraft. The company traces
its roots to the former Stars and Bars Aircraft
which specialized in the maintenance of these
vintage trainer aircraft. The company was
acquired by Historic Aeroplane Works in 2006 and
now focuses on the full ‘ground-up’ restoration
of the T-6 series. We
currently have nearly twenty restoration
projects underway at our 14,000 square foot
facility in Huntington, Indiana.
Additionally, we have broken ground on a new
27,000 square foot purpose built restoration
facility that will be complete in the first
quarter of 2008.
Historic
Aeroplane Works, the parent company of Midwest
Texans is dedicated to the preservation and
operation of former military aircraft.
The company also publishes
Warbird Digest, the premier magazine for
warbird enthusiasts, as well as operating a
number of vintage aircraft.
